Richard Meiss, MBA

Rich Meiss, MBA  has played a key role in people and talent development, holding executive positions with Personal Dynamics Institute, Carlson Learning Company (presently Wiley Publishing, Inc), The Bob Pike Group, and now President of Meiss Education Institute. He has personally trained over 75,000 trainers, presenters, employees and leaders, conducting workshops and seminars in over 150 cities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Africa. Rich works with clients from small to large businesses, government, education, non-profit and ministry and health care. He has worked in over 200 of the Fortune 500 companies in America.
 

Rich works with organizations in creating and delivering innovative training programs at the organizational level (coaching, meeting facilitation and teambuilding), and at the personal level (communications, leadership and train-the-trainer/presenter workshops).  Rich easily warms up to his audience and is known for his ability to involve and engage participants through his interactive presentations and seminars. 

Rich is the author of Coaching For Results and Powerful Presentations, and co-author with Becky Pike Pluth of six CORE books: Closers, Openers, Reviews and Energizers for Trainers.

An educator by profession, with advanced degrees in education, numerous accreditations, and certifications to lead workshops and seminars, Barbara has been involved in teaching and training for over 35 years. She has served in leadership positions in business, nonprofits, and ministry. Her career has ranged from teaching in public schools to national training and management duties with major training corporations. Current profession includes Vice President of Meiss Education Institute, and Director of Leadership Development at Lead Like Jesus.

As Vice President and Co-owner of Meiss Education Institute Barbara is responsible for general management of all business practices, client relationships and financial fiduciary duties of the business. She oversees different areas in the organization, such as marketing/operations, and manages independent consultants that contract with the organization for a variety of services.

Barbara serves as the Director of Leadership Development at Lead Like Jesus, a non-profit organization that equips and empowers people to lead like Jesus. Her role at Lead Like Jesus involves developing curriculum, managing the training function and overseeing facilitator certification of workshops and assessments. With a servant heart striving always to lead like Jesus, she seeks to help others find their purpose and passion in life.

Barbara and her husband Rich have two adult married children and five grandchildren whom they enjoy spending time with. They reside in MN during the summer and AZ in the winter.
